My name is Daniel Santos, I’m a Portuguese nature photographer based in a small village close to the beautiful city of Porto. I always loved to be in contact with nature and since I was a child I wanted to be a biologist. In 2011, I finally started studying biology at the University of Porto, where I discovered photography. Since I bought my first camera I have been experiencing the best of the two worlds.

With my work I hope, not only to show the true beauty of nature, but also make people aware of the ecological problems the planet is facing. I intend to have an active voice and fight for nature conservation.
It’s difficult for me to describe my style, but I always try to capture as much as possible the environment the subjects live in, not forgetting the use of interesting and creative light and compositions. I like to look beyond the obvious and I’m always searching for new and creative perspectives to capture emotion and action.
